Most of the time we label someone as toxic due to that person being extremely rude to their peers.

It ain’t just about a destructive behavior or saying something demeaning about others.

Sometimes it can be subtle to the point that it's considered normal talk.

Some examples of that are:

  • Calling people boring for not smoking or drinking, or only being able to have fun while doing so;
  • Expecting that someone to respond to a message as soon as they get it;
  • Giving harsh opinions and calling it constructive criticism;
  • Making people feel guilty for taking a break;
  • Being fake on social media for the sake of views and likes;
  • Invalidating someone’s trauma because someone else has had it worse

As colloquial these types of attitudes might seem, they can be really hurtful and lead to severe mental illness.

We should all do better and be accountable for our words and actions.

Next time you think of doing any of these or see anyone else doing so, be the better person and make a positive change.
