Science says that you should consume, on average, 2 liters of water per day. That’s 8 glasses, give or take. But you’re not always at home or somewhere you can serve yourself a glass of water, right?

So you go out and might buy a bottle of water. If you buy 1-liter bottles, that’s 14 bottles in a week. In a year that would be 730 bottles.

Let’s up those numbers, for perspective. In 50 years' time, 15 people could consume 557 500 bottles of water. That’s a lot of money and plastic!

Let’s say you have expensive taste and only buy Fiji, that would be around $2,15 per bottle. In a year that’s $1569,5 in water.

But if you stick to tap water though, at a cost of $0.01 per liter, you’ll be paying only $7.30 in a year. $1562.2 less for drinkable water!

In a period of 50 years, you can save up to $78110!

In terms of plastic volume, since each bottle weighs around 11,35 grams, you’d be producing 414,28 Kg of plastic waste! Drastic, but it’s the reality.

Concluding, next time you leave the house and want to save money and the planet, just make sure to take a reusable water bottle with you.
