Say you already have a logo but you still don’t have enough resources to register it. Well, you can do it for free.

You can use the TM symbol as it represents your intention to register your brand in the future. It stands for Unregistered Trademark.

It is completely free to use, acknowledges your ownership of the logo, and can even be used to support infringements disputes.

Once you’re ready, you can proceed to acquire the R symbol, which stands for Registered Trademark.

Bear in mind however that it must be registered with a trademark office, costs $1000 at a minimum, and takes up to 3 years to acquire.

Once you do it, you’ve unlocked the highest level of protection against trademark infringement. So it’s worth it.

Inspired by a fellow creator, I decided to challenge myself to publish 100 short-form articles within January. This is article number 61.
