Procrastination is a serious threat to your productivity. It often leads to stress, guilt, and even a sense of worthlessness.

Though being often connected to factors like anxiety, low self-esteem, or self-sabotage mentality, procrastination is more common than you might think.

Procrastination often starts with small tasks that you deem insignificant but might be an irritant interruption to your workflow.

They usually have low-impact solutions, like organizing a messy living room. However, these tend to lead to bigger tasks, with a meaningful impact on your life.

If it becomes a habit, you may unconsciously overestimate or underestimate the size or importance of a task.

If you struggle with procrastination, consider just taking the step, even if you don’t feel prepared.

When you feel like you have 70% of the information, just do it.

If you wait until you’re 100% sure, you’ll never get started.

The hard truth is that you’ll never be prepared. Maybe you’re afraid of failing, but doing nothing is granted failure.

Also, if you take too long to start, you’ll eventually lose interest in the task you have at hand.

By being decisive and starting with 70% of the information, you’ll at least guarantee that you tried.

Plus, either should you fail or be successful, you’ll also learn how to quickly recognize and correct bad decisions and outcomes, as you’ll get more and more information along the way. This way you’ll not only improve your ability to take action but also become proficient at course correcting.

So stop waiting. You’ll never be 100% ready, so you might as well start now.
