Life’s not easy and sometimes it’s hard to accept that.

You’ve been through enough yet something new always seems to appear to push you back down. Well, that is necessary. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be able to grow as a person.

Part of that growth is to be able to accept that downs are part of the journey. So here are a few you should accept.

The comfort zone is dangerous

It might be carefree but hinders your potential and progress. You can only achieve your goals if you try new things every day. Face your fear of failure and leave your comfort zone.

You can always come back to recharge some energies, just make sure you don’t stay there too long.

Failure happens often

The people you call successful weren’t always like that. In fact, they failed a lot before finding that one thing that made them successful.

Success won’t just fall in your hands, you have to chase it and be able to not give up at the first sight of failure.

You can’t change people

You can only change yourself. You may try as much as you can, but people won’t be what you want them to be.

The most you can do is influence or advise them to address a certain habit or trait, but in the end, the will and responsibility reside in them.

People will disappoint you

Might seem a negative thought to live by, however, this is not about pushing others away to avoid disappointment.

What you need to do is balance expectations with commitment in your relationships.

And if disappointment settles, just be the bigger person and address the situation with the other.

The past is done

And neither does it go away. It is unchangeable and the more you dwell in it the more you’re postponing your life.

We all make mistakes, all you can do is learn from the past and become a better person in the present.

The future is uncertain

From one time window to another, expecting answers from the “what if…” questions won’t lead you anywhere but to anxiety.

You can’t control everything and there will always be surprises that make you rethink certain decisions.

Focus on your goals and chase them despite the challenges you might face along the way.

You are alone

Drastic but somewhat true. You are only yourself and, even though people can be of help in less positive situations of your life, the final word is yours.

Learn to enjoy your own company and tackle any loneliness you might struggle with.

If you need help, seek it. Nonetheless, your life is yours, so own it.
