You heard of the Great Resignation and even know some friends and former coworkers who left their jobs in of more money, flexibility, and satisfaction. ⁣

And now you’re thinking about taking ownership of your career too!

But how do you know if you should join the Great Resignation? Let me help.

You have a poor work-life balance

It reflects the belief that you are underperforming and you should double down on work, disregarding your wellbeing. It only ends up damaging your mental health long-term.

You are being micromanaged

Your superior micromanaging every aspect of your work leads to a lack of autonomy and distorts your sense of self-efficacy and self-worth.

You lack recognition

No recognition usually means you’re being taken advantage of. This will also lead to no self-recognition, where you don’t take the time to enjoy your accomplishments.

Your company’s integrity is deficient

“Practice what you preach” isn’t the motto of the company.⁣ Basically, you were hired under some guidelines that were misleading and now you find yourself doubting current and future decisions that hinder your professional stability.

You feel it in your gut

You wake up every day questioning if it’s even worth going to work. Maybe you lost the passion, maybe it isn’t challenging anymore, or maybe the company’s culture just doesn’t suit you. Either way, the will isn’t there anymore.

Inspired by a fellow creator, I decided to challenge myself to publish 100 short-form articles within January. This is article number 5.
